Kaycee Hill is a poet and Editor at Future publishing, currently studying for an MA in Creative Writing at the University of Bristol.
She grew up in a working-class, mixed-heritage household - British and Caribbean - in Andover. Kaycee was selected as Poetry Ambassador for Hampshire and Dorset in 2020, was a shortlisted poet for the Poetry London Mentoring Scheme, and was invited by The Young Poets Network to write a poem responding to Sir David Attenborough’s COP26 speech. She was one of the three winners of the inaugural James Berry Poetry Prize in 2021 and received mentorship from Malika Booker.
Since then, Kaycee has been active in Bristol’s thriving poetry scene, securing readings at Clifton Literary Festival, Bookhaus, East Bristol Books, Under the Red Gutair, and Toppings. Kaycee’s poetry has been published in the Poetry Review, The Poetry Society website, Five Dials and Zocalo Public Square, and commended by the Young Poets Network.
She has performed various readings across the UK and in Berlin and facilitated poetry workshops. Kaycee’s work can also be found in The Lost Art of Staring Into Fires, Poetry Ambassadors, and Roots.
